External Data Columns - Search

I may be missing something here but I can't seem to get search to work as advertised. I click the mag glass and type a value then I click the search icon (or hit enter on the keyboard) and I get the entire list returned. No filter.
My list is 706 items long but no matter what I search for I get all of them returned.
Attached is the config for the EDC

Hi Jay,

Please add '$$SEARCH_TEXT$$' in the select query for the user entered search text .

Ex: SELECT Id, Name FROM tblDepartment Where Name like '%$$SEARCH_TEXT$$%'

Perfect working now thanks, obviously missed that step
